Coach: Chris Sargeant
Chris grew up in Salford, Manchester. After high school, he was recruited by Leigh RMI and played in the Nationwide Conference Premier League. Chris finished his UK soccer at a local semi-professional club, Warrington Town FC, before signing with Dodge City Community College in Kansas. Soon after he graduated, Chris moved to the prestigious Concordia University in Portland, a school ranked 16th in the NAIA. Chris has obtained his English FA 2 coaching qualification and holds a CSA National “B” Certificate. He has coached at the university level and directed community programs in Salford. He is also a Head Coach with the Burnaby Central PASS (Play Active School Soccer) Program and an Assistant Coach with the SFU Women’s Program.Chris coaches our Girls U14 & Girls U16 teams.
Coach: Craig Ogilvie
Craig is a native of Scotland and was attached to several professional and semi-professional clubs as a youth player and moved to Vancouver in 2011. Within weeks of his arrival, he was coaching club academies at Central City Breakers and Coquitlam MetroFord. Craig played at all levels during his playing career and started coaching with Scottish Premier League team St. Johnstone at the tender age of 17. He has coached teams of all ages and abilities with over 18 years of experience and is a certified UEFA Youth licence coach, CSA B National Licence, SFA Club coach to name a few. Craig was also an SFA Coaching Champion before he emigrated to Canada.
Craig has coached for St. Johnstone Football Club (Pro-Youth Academy), and has been involved in developing the technical program at a number of clubs within the lower mainland. Craig is the owner and Technical Director of Alba Soccer Academy which focuses on developing technical skill-sets of players between the ages of 6 and 14.
Craig’s coaching pedigree led him to being appointed assistant coach of the BC Soccer U15 Provincial Squad in 2013 and in 2015 was appointed Head Coach of the U14 Provincial Squad.
Craig rejoined Mountain United as Head Coach of the 1998 boys after a brief spell coaching the MUFC 97 girls in 2012. Since his arrival Craig has been instrumental in developing and restructuring the 98 squad into players playing attractive football, with several players moving onto post secondary scholarship opportunities as well as providing a platform for selection to the provincial squads and Whitecaps residency program.Craig coaches our Boys Intake team.
Coach: Annie Hamel
Annie is the Head Coach of the Women’s Program at Simon Fraser University. A native of Magog, Quebec she was previously an assistant coach at Saint Leo University in Florida, a graduate assistant coach at the University of Maine and was Head Coach with the Ottawa Fury U-20 Team. As a player, Hamel was a professional with FC Indiana and the Ottawa Fury following her time playing Division I at the University of Maine. It was here in 2003 where Annie set a record for most goals (40) in a season and led her team to an appearance in the American East Conference Finals. Annie holds the NSCAA National Diploma and the Advanced National Diploma coaching certifications.Annie coaches our Girls U15 & Girls U17 teams.
Coach: Michael D'Agostino
Michael was born and raised in the Vancouver area and is a former member of the U15-U23 Canadian National Teams including participating in the 2007 U20 World Cup hosted in Canada. Michael played professionally in England, Italy, and Germany and also played for the University of Kentucky in the NCAA before moving back home to start his coaching career.
Michael is currently the Assistant Technical Director & Academy Director of North Vancouver Football Club, one of MUFC’s partner clubs. He is also the the Assistant Coach of the Quest University Men’s Soccer Team and in addition is also the co-founder and operator of Vancouver Futsal.
Michael holds his CSA National B Licence and has also been trained as a BC Soccer Learning Facilitator.Michael coaches our U13 Boys team.
Coach: Graham Thompson
Graham was born and grew up playing soccer in the Fraser Valley. Upon graduation from youth soccer Graham began, and has continued working with youth players in the Fraser Valley. Over the last ten years Graham has focused on working with players aged ten to fourteen to develop their technique and understanding of soccer making him a specialist at the 2004 intake age group.Graham coaches our Intake Girls team.
Coach: Nick Dasovic
Nick is a former Canadian International who played 63 times which included World Cup qualifiers, Gold Cups and the CONFEDREATIONS cup in Japan. He spent most of professional playing career in Europe where he played in Croatia, France, Sweden and Scotland. After leaving Europe he continued his playing career in Vancouver with the Whitecaps until he retired in 2005.
Nick has had the privilege to not only have played for Canada but coach Canada’s Men’s U 20 and U 23 National teams. He successfully completed the UEFA Pro Licence Diploma from the Scottish Football Association in 2012. Nick was inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame in 2011 as a player and also in 2012 as a member of the Team of the half Century.Nick coaches our U14 Boys & U17 Boys teams.
