Coach: Andrea Agnoloni

As a youngster in his native Italy, Andrea naturally was drawn to soccer and at the age of 14, was selected as goalkeeper within the youth development system of a professional club. However, Andrea chose to pursue a second passion and embarked on a road biking career. He stayed involved in the game though playing at the amateur level until his arrival in Canada at the age of 25.

Over the years, Andrea has pursued local coaching opportunities and has constructed an impressive resume of assignments. Andrea coached with the Burnaby Selects at the Metro level and was a Staff Coach with the North Shore Soccer Development Centre. He also coached with Mountain FC in the USL Super-Y League leading his teams to successive North American Finals in 2009 and 2010.  Andrea has also held positions as Technical Director – North Vancouver Lions Gate Soccer Association, Goalkeeper Coach of North Shore IPL teams, and several other Head Coach duties with North Shore Clubs. Through his relations with the professional Italian Club, Empoli FC Andrea has coordinated coaching clinics and summer camps in the Vancouver area involving staff coaches from this Club. Andrea holds a CSA National “B” Certificate and has completed Part I of the National “A” License.

Coach: Ron Cuthbert

As a player, Ron was a member of the U18 BC Provincial Team and later helped the SFU Clansmen to two NAIA Championships. Ron also played for Nelson United of the New Zealand National League. Ron holds a Provincial ‘B’ Coaching Certification and has been a very successful youth coach for over 25 years. Ron was a Staff Coach with the Cliff Avenue Developmental Academy and has coached for the former Mountain FC in the USL Super Y-League. These teams were noted for their creative play and exceptional technical standards as they enjoyed two extraordinary seasons. Ron has been coaching our 2000-Boys team the past two seasons and led them to a Divisional Championship in Phase One, 2013. He now assumes the Head Coach position with the 2001-Boys.

Coach: Tony Francisco

Tony is recognized as a dedicated and experienced coach holding many positions over the years including five assignments with Mountain FC of the USL Super-Y League leading several teams to the North American Finals. He has coached the U18 Boys team with MUFC the past two years and previously served as the Vancouver Whitecaps Men’s Assistant Coach for three years under current CSA Technical Director, Tony Fonseca. He has also been a Staff Coach with the Whitecaps Academy and the former North Shore Soccer Development Centre. Tony holds a Provincial “B” Certificate and has been endorsed as a National “B” candidate.

Coach: Jeff Hodgson

Jeff was a varsity player at Langara College and UBC where he acquired a Bachelor of Human Kinetics followed by a Bachelor of Education. He has coached at several levels including U14 Metro Girls, Whitecaps Prospects Camps, U12 BC Summer Games team, Lord Byng High School and coordinated the UBC Soccer Camps High Performance Program. In addition, Jeff has had several opportunities to serve as manager for the U17 Boys National Team including international destinations. Jeff holds a Provincial “B” Certificate and NCCP Level I. He also completed the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma in June 2013 and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Jeff has been coaching our 1998 Girls for two years and led them to a Divisional Title in Phase One, 2013 and to a Silver Medal in the Provincial Premier Cup Finals. He will continue to coach this team and takes on the added responsibility of the 2001 Girls Team.

Coach: Chris Livingston

Chris was born in Liverpool but grew up in Scotland. He played soccer all through his youth years and by 15, was signed by Dundee United FC. He also played semi-professionally with Arbroath FC of the Scottish 2nd Division and in the Scottish Junior Leagues. After traveling through many parts of the world, Chris settled in Vancouver and played in the Vancouver Metro League for a few years. He then turned his attention to coaching and began as a Staff Coach with TSS. Chris held several assignments there over a five year period. He has also formed a personal business, Livinfitness catering to adults and youth seeking strength and conditioning (SAQ) programs. Chris was also the U13 Boys coach at Fusion in 2012/13 before coming over to MUFC. He has obtained a Coaching Diploma through Douglas College, is a Certified Personal Trainer and holds a Provincial-B Certificate. Chris will be in charge of our U13 (2000) Boys team for 2013/14.

Coach: Wayne Shaw

Wayne has had a very distinguished coaching career enjoying successes at many different levels including Whitecaps Prospects, Super-Y League, Senior High School Boys and as a Provincial Team Head Coach. A High School teacher by profession, Wayne’s coaching credentials include working with the Whitecaps Prospects and BC Summer Games Program. He has served as Technical Director for the Girls U14 Program at the North Shore Soccer Development Centre and coached an excellent Burnaby Selects team at U14 Boys. Prior to his extensive coaching career Wayne played for SFU and was also drafted by the original Vancouver Whitecaps of the North American Soccer League. In 2012, Wayne led the Surrey United U15 Girls to a Provincial Championship. This past season he led our U17 Boys to the Provincial Premier Final in the U18 Boys Division and second overall in the League. Wayne holds a B-Provincial Certificate.

Coach: Justin Thompson

Justin was a professional player for eight years with the likes of the Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers. He was also a National Team player serving at the U17, U20, U23 and Olympic Team levels. Justin’s career has taken him all over the world for competitions and his leadership qualities have seen him placed as captain for many of his teams. Justin has now turned his attention to coaching and pursuing credentials beginning with the Provincial “B” Certificate. He has served as a NS Girls Metro Coach, with the Whitecaps Academy and Portland Timbers Academy in addition to the Sentinel Soccer Academy. Justin has been in charge of our 1998 Boys team for two years and has developed them into a quality, competitive team. They finished as Silver Medalists in the Provincial Premier Finals in June 2013.

Coach: Lee Tregonning

Growing up in Wales, Lee was a youth player with Cardiff City and Luton Town and later coached at these Clubs. Lee holds a UEFA “B” License and has completed the Welsh Football Leaders Course. Since arriving in Canada, Lee has quickly established himself as a credible and effective coach. He has coached with Mountain FC of the USL Super-Y League, has been a Staff Coach with the North Shore Soccer Development Centre and initiated the Europa Soccer Academy in Vancouver providing varied training programs for young players. Lee has been coaching our U18 Girls team and led them to the Provincial Premier Cup Finals earning a Silver Medal. A large number of these girls have moved on to post secondary opportunities and most include scholarships. Lee has also been in charge of our talented U16 Girls team. Three of these girls have been selected into the Vancouver Whitecaps U18 Elite Program. Lee has also been a Provincial Teams Coach for two years. He will continue on as U16 Girls Team coach and also assume the U14 Girls Team in the Fall 2013.

Coach: Paul Turner

Paul is originally from London, England and has lived in Vancouver since 2009. Paul’s coaching focus thus far has been with the younger players, 4-13 years. He was the North Shore Soccer Development Centre’s (NSSDC) Director of Operations from 2010 to 2012 just prior to its integration with the North Vancouver Football Club (NVFC). Paul was also an Assistant Coach to the 1995 Girls Team with Mountain FC of the USL Super-Y League for two seasons. This past season, Paul coached the U13 (2000) Girls and the U14 (1999) Girls. Both teams did exceptionally well with the U13 Girls claiming the Provincial Premier Championship in June. In addition to his Head Coaching duties with these teams, Paul has continued to coach in various programs with NVFC. He has also served as a Provincial Teams Coach for the past two years. Paul earned his B-Provincial Certificate in 2011 and his B-National Certificate in 2012. He will carry on into Phase II 2013 as Head Coach of the U13 (2000) Girls.

Coach: Velibor Vukovic

Velibor was a professional player in the top Divisions of the former Yugoslavia. He went on to coach at the Youth Academy of FC Borac in Bosnia. This Academy produced many players currently playing professionally in several countries in Europe. Velibor also coached the senior teams at FC Omladinac and FC Krajina in Bosnia. In Canada, Velibor ran an Academy in New Westminster for five years and coached at the Metro level. He obtained a coaching diploma from Belgrade College, holds a UEFA A License, the Canadian National B License and a provisional FIFA Pro License. Velibor is working with our U15 Boys (1997) as a co-coach with Justin Thompson.
