U13 Initiation Teams (Players born in 2000)

Mountain United FC will be holding a series of evaluations for selection to its 2012 U13 Initiation Teams. Recently appointed Initiation Team coaches – Ron Cuthbert (Boys) and Karl Budd (Girls) will oversee the evaluations with assistance from the rest of the MUFC coaching staff. Players born in the year 2000 are eligible for selection. *Please note, players born in the year 2001 may be considered for evaluation but only if identified and endorsed by MUFC’s Technical Director through scouting and recommendation in advance. The teams will be selected by early March 2012 and will commence training later that month. They will participate in an exhibition/tournament schedule from April to June before taking the summer break. Fees for the spring schedule are anticipated to be $375 to cover coaching, fields, officials, equipment and kit. These teams will then play in the EA Sports BCSPL mini season from September to November 2012. Following a re-evaluation phase and winter break, the teams will move on to the full U13 EA Sports BCSPL season in February 2013. Fees for the mini and full season are to be determined.

The EA Sports BCSPL www.bcsoccerpremierleague.net  is the new high performance league with eight regional Clubs. It represents the highest level of youth soccer in the province. Players aspiring to play in this league require commitment and dedication to the program. At Mountain United FC, professional coaches are in place to enable players to reach their full potential in a player-centric development model. The U13 Initiation Teams will train twice per week during the spring schedule but will move to three times per week by September. If you are a motivated player and ready to challenge yourself at this level, please register for our evaluations. Please read the BCSPL Entry Level Player Evaluation FAQ for answers to many frequently asked questions.

The first two evaluations are Open Identification camps and will be held the weekend of February 18/19, 2012. Details are noted below. Upon registration, players will be placed into one of these camps and notified via e-mail. We will balance the camps by volume and position in order to maximize assessment opportunities. Only selected players will return for an Invitational Camp on February 26, 2012. A Final Invitational camp is scheduled for March 4, 2012 which will conclude the evaluation process and the teams will be announced.

Open Identification camps have now concluded. All participating players will receive an email (Wednesday or Thursday) advising if they are to return for further evaluation at our Boys and Girls Invitational Camps on Sunday February 26th. Thank you to all participating players and parents! Boys and Girls sessions each had over 100 players at tryouts. This is a strong age group, it will be difficult to select only one team from this outstanding talent pool.
