Grouse Mountain – 2nd Annual One Climb – June 14th
Grouse Mountain / Whistler Water is gearing up for their 2nd annual One Climb, set for June 14 on the Grouse Grind. The event is a challenge out to Lower Mainland youth, community members and business leaders to dress in blue and “flood the Grind,” all to raise funds for Free The Children water projects in Kenya. 100 percent of the funds raised through Whistler Water One Climb will support Free The Children’s special water project in Kipsongol, Kenya, where thousands of people lack access to clean water for drinking, sanitation and hygiene. Last year, more than 1,800 people registered for Whistler Water One Climb and collectively raised more than $110,000 for a Free The Children water project in the Maasai Mara region of Kenya. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Whistler Water One Climb, our team is aiming to make this Grouse Grind event even bigger in 2014. Not only are we looking to surpass last year’s attendance and fundraising, we’re working on an unforgettable event day experience that includes pop star Victoria Duffield along with the band Neverest, Free The Children’s Spencer West, and Hannah Alper, and much more. It will be an awesome way to celebrate the start of summer and make a difference in the world! It’s easy to register by visiting www.oneclimb.ca Just follow the prompts to register and set up a fundraising page. Plus there are tools on the website to help with fundraising efforts and more information on One Climb.
